SYMPOSIUM and ROUND TABLE TOPICS
The aim of this symposium is to provide a forum for the discussion and dissemination of recent developments in the processing, characterization and properties of composites, ceramics and nano materials. Accordingly, contributions that include but are not limited to the following areas are invited:
  • Densification of powders through conventional, pressure-assisted, and field-assisted sintering
  • Fundamental sintering science, including densification mechanisms and microstructure evolution
  • Powder processing-structure-property-performance relationships
  • Additive manufacturing based on powder materials and sintering-assisted routes
  • Processing routes involving in-situ and ex-situ phase formation and transformation
  • Solid-state, semi-solid, liquid-phase, and reactive powder processing routes
  • Mechanical alloying, mechanical milling, activation, and mechanochemical processing
  • Novel synthesis and processing routes enabled by powder technologies
  • Metal-matrix, ceramic-matrix, and hybrid composite materials
  • Oxide, non-oxide, ultra-high-temperature, and refractory ceramics
  • Bio-ceramics, bio-composites, and materials for biomedical applications
  • Synthetic, recycled, waste-derived, and bio-inspired powder materials
  • Functionally graded materials, architected materials, and sandwich structures
  • Multi-scale reinforcement strategies spanning macro-, micro-, and nano-length scales
  • Advanced characterization of powder materials and sintering processes, including in-situ and operando techniques
  • Powder materials under extreme thermal, electrical, mechanical, and environmental conditions
  • Computational modeling and multi-scale simulation of powder processing and densification
  • Data-driven and machine-learning approaches for powder materials design and manufacturing
  • Education, training, and workforce development in sintering and powder materials engineering
